This is not the first Lululemon store to be targeted in the District.

WASHINGTON — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is asking for the public’s help in identifying multiple persons of interest involved in a theft at the Lululemon store in Georgetown.

The incident occurred on March 24 just before 11 a.m. in the 3200 block of M Street, NW. According to police, the suspects were captured on surveillance cameras as they stole merchandise from the high-end athletic wear retailer.

MPD has released images of the individuals and is urging anyone with information to come forward. Community members who can identify the suspects or have knowledge of the crime are encouraged to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text their tips to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.

To incentivize leads, MPD is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.

A pattern of thefts:

This latest incident comes on the heels of a wave of thefts targeting Lululemon stores in the District. In July, the company announced the closure of its 14th Street location, citing ongoing issues with retail theft.

In one of the most recent cases, a group of suspects entered the 14th Street store, stole merchandise, and fled in a silver Mitsubishi SUV with Maryland license plate 5EP8455. Police have not yet confirmed if the same individuals were involved in the Georgetown theft.

Additionally, just days after that incident, police reported that four suspects struck multiple Lululemon stores in a two-hour window, targeting locations on 14th Street, M Street, and F Street. In one case, a single thief stole $11,000 worth of merchandise.

Authorities have made at least one arrest in connection to previous thefts. Avante Demarco Greene, 23, of Northwest D.C., was charged with first-degree theft for multiple incidents at Lululemon stores in July.

Police are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward.
