Advance Auto Parts will open 30 new U.S. stores this year, moving toward a goal of adding at least 100 new locations through 2027. The retailer, which currently operates nearly 4,800 stores, was closing locations as recently as November 2024, but its footprint optimization efforts have concluded and the retailer is ready to return to growth mode.
The new locations will include the auto parts retailer’s larger-footprint market hub stores, which debuted in June 2022 with a 45,000-square-foot location in Los Angeles. These stores, slated for new openings in the Midwest, carry 75,000 to 85,000 SKUs, helping support same-day delivery for area stores. The typical Advance store carries 20,000 to 25,000 SKUs.
Focusing on CX Fundamentals
Since the beginning of 2025, Advance has opened six stores in Florida, New Jersey, Tennessee and Virginia. Over the coming months, the retailer plans to open locations in Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin. Advance also is seeking to enhance the customer experience with investments in IT infrastructure, equipment, store repairs and improved inventory and delivery, as well as additional training for associates at existing stores.
