Build-A-Bear Workshop has nearly 600 locations worldwide.
Build-A-Bear Workshop plans to reimagine its retail experience in a big way in one of the country’s busiest tourist destinations.
The experiential retailer plans to open a multi-level “retail-tainment” experience at the Icon Park center in Orlando, Fla. in the first half of 2026. Construction of the space is slated to begin later this year.
The move is part of a multi-year strategic evolution and expansion of Build-A-Bear’s global footprint, particularly in tourist and hospitality destinations, building on its nearly 600 locations.
Build-A-Bear is partnering with design firm Chute Gerdeman, whose projects include FAO Schwarz’s New York City, on the design of the Orlando store. The retailer released few details about the upcoming store, saying only that it is “reimagining its already engaging, destination-based retail concept with evolved, interactive, and personalized elements.”
