

Carter’s has brought in a new President and CEO to ramp up its growth initiatives. Douglas Palladini, former Global Brand President of Vans, will take the top leadership spot, as well as a board seat, starting April 3, 2025.
Palladini brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience to the baby and child apparel retailer. In his time at Vans, a division of VF Corporation, he more than doubled global revenue to over $4.2 billion in less than six years. Additionally, he spearheaded Vans’ global expansion efforts, growing the brand’s product assortment in more than 100 countries. As a result, the apparel and accessories business swelled to account for nearly 20% of total sales.
In January 2025, former CEO Michael Casey announced his retirement after spending 15 years in the leadership role. Richard Westenberger, the current Senior EVP, CFO and COO of Carter’s, acted as interim CEO with the support of Casey through Feb. 28, 2025.

Innovation Remains Top of Mind at Carter’s
Palladini’s expertise will support Carter’s evolutionary journey as it strives to resonate with a new cohort of Gen Z parents. Efforts thus far have included a refreshed brand look and feel, a new store concept and a greater emphasis on modern yet on-trend apparel. Additionally, the retailer has focused on building loyalty for its portfolio of brands, including OshKosh B’Gosh, Little Planet and Skip Hop.
