Enhancing Vital Monitoring Operations at Chile’s Port of Valparaiso
The Port of Valparaiso, the second-busiest port in Chile, installed a video wall processor in its command and control center. With an increase in cruise and freight activity, the port needed to improve real-time monitoring of its operations, such as loading and unloading ships and detecting illicit materials like drugs or explosives.
The RGB Spectrum processor powers a massive video wall with 33 high-definition displays across a 130-square-foot surface. The processor allows for visual data to be piped in from various sources, including computer feeds, surveillance video cameras, radio frequency sensors on vessels and containers, video management software systems, access control systems, local and national news, and weather broadcasts. To support collaboration between decisionmakers who sometimes work far apart from each other, the processor can mimic its entire video wall or selected sites of interest to other stakeholders—including command personnel, first responders, and other departments and agencies—through the system’s network.
