A two-alarm fire in Queens that broke out Saturday morning ripped through multiple commercial buildings, the FDNY said.
A total of 106 firefighters and EMS medics responded around 10:56 a.m. to the scene of the blaze at the rear of a building on Woodhaven Blvd. at 62nd Ave. and 62nd Rd. in Middle Village. First responders found multiple restaurants ablaze, including Maca, a Peruvian eatery, and Taste of Samarkand, an Uzbek place. The fire was brought under control around 12:16 p.m.
Three firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the fire and were taken for treatment to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Northwell Health.
According to footage from Citizen, a large cloud of gray smoke covered the area.
The fire’s cause remained unclear as an investigation remains ongoing.
